DEFINITION

Digital Projected Image Division (PID) - Color

  1. The Color Digital Projected Image Division is open with undefined subject matter.
  2. Any Monochrome images submitted in Color Digital Projected Image Division will be counted as color images.
 
 

Digital Projected Image Division (PID) - Monochrome

  1. The Monochrome Digital Image Division is open with undefined subject matter.
  2. An image is considered to be Monochrome only if it gives the impression of having no color (i.e. contains only shades of gray which can include pure black and pure white) OR it gives the impression of being a grayscale image that has been toned in one color across the entire image. (For example by Sepia, red, gold, etc.)
  3. A grayscale or multi-colored image modified or giving the impression of having been modified by partial toning, multi toning or by the inclusion of spot coloring does not meet the definition of monochrome and shall be classified as a Color Work.
 
 

Digital Nature Division (ND)

  1. Nature photography is restricted to the use of the photographic process to depict all branches of natural history, except anthropology and archaeology, in such a fashion that a well-informed person will be able to identify the subject material and certify its honest presentation.
  2. The story telling value of a photograph must be weighed more than the pictorial quality while maintaining high technical quality.
  3. Human elements shall not be present, except where those human elements are integral parts of the nature story such as nature subjects, like barn owls or storks, adapted to an environment modified by humans, or where those human elements are in situations depicting natural forces, like hurricanes or tidal waves.
  4. Scientific bands, scientific tags or radio collars on wild animals are permissible.
  5. Photographs of human created hybrid plants, cultivated plants, feral animals, domestic animals, or mounted specimens are ineligible, as is any form of manipulation that alters the truth of the photographic statement.
  6. No techniques that add, relocate, replace, or remove pictorial elements except by cropping are permitted.
  7. Techniques that enhance the presentation of the photograph without changing the nature story or the pictorial content, or without altering the content of the original scene, are permitted including HDR, focus stacking and dodging / burning.
  8. Techniques that remove elements added by the camera, such as dust spots, digital noise, and film scratches, are allowed.
  9. Stitched images are not permitted.
  10. All allowed adjustments must appear natural.
  11. Color images can be converted to greyscale monochrome.
  12. Infrared images, either direct-captures or derivations, are not allowed.
  13. Images entered in Nature sections meeting the Nature Photography Definition above can have landscapes, geologic formations, weather phenomena, and extant organisms as the primary subject matter. This includes images taken with the subjects in controlled conditions, such as zoos, game farms, botanical gardens, aquariums and any enclosure where the subjects are totally dependent on man for food.
 
 

General

  1. Digital files must be in a compressed "JPEG" format with a maximum size of 1920 pixels wide x 1200 pixels high and a maximum resolution of 300 ppi, size must not exceed 3MB.
  2. NEC 42" LCD TV MONITOR with 1920x1200 resolution will be used as the display monitor.
  3. Entries submitted via internet regardless of portrait or landscape orientation, will be displayed exactly the status we received. TPPC will not responsible for any compression or rotation of the images.
  4. Images that are smaller than the maximum size will be displayed exactly.
  5. TPPC shall not be responsible for any losses and errors during the process of reading digital files. All Submitted digital files will not be returned.
  6. The sequence of images submitted will be displayed in order.
  7. The exhibition is open to anyone; however, an entry may be rejected when the sponsoring organization or its agent, in its reasonable discretion, believes the entry does not conform to the exhibition rules and conditions. The entry fee will not be refunded.
    1. Acceptances in PID recognized Color sections shall be credited towards PID Color Star Ratings and Who's Who Color listings. Monochrome images accepted in PID recognized Color sections shall only be credited towards PID Color Star Ratings.
    2. Acceptances in PID recognized Monochrome sections shall be credited towards PID Monochrome Star Ratings and Who's Who Monochrome listings.

彩色數碼投射影像組

  1. 彩色數碼投射影像組不限題材。
  2. 任何提交至彩色投射影像組的黑白作品,將一概被視為彩色作品。
 
 

黑白數碼投射影像組

  1. 黑白數碼投射影像組不限題材。
  2. 黑白作品之定義:是指黑、灰、白色為基本色調,以不同的灰階層次組成影像。
  3. 黑白作品如經過部份修改色調,而增加一種或多種顏色,將被列為彩色作品,而不被接納參與黑白投射影像組的評選。
 
 

自然生態數碼投射影像組

  1. 自然攝影必須是使用攝影,描繪從自然歷史的各個分支的觀察所得,人類學和考古學除外。攝影者必須以此方式,誠實地展示被攝題材。
  2. 在維持高技術質量的同時,圖片故事性的比重必須大於其畫面質量。
  3. H不應包含人為因素,除非該人為因素有助於提高作品的故事性。
  4. 野生生物身上附帶科研頸圈,科研標記或無線電項圈皆列入容許之列。
  5. 任何人工造成的植物或動物,裝置的標本或明顯的擺佈,概不接受。
  6. 除作品上的剪裁之外,不得以任何形式,任何技術所作出而影響了作品的真實性,包括但不限於增加、重置、取代或移除任何畫面元素。
  7. 任何改善作品展示的技術,除改變自然故事性及畫面內容之外,皆可被接受。
  8. 可被接受除塵,消除雜訊等電腦相片修補。
  9. 拼接圖像技術作品概不接受。
  10. 所有的修改,必須維持自然性。
  11. 以彩色作品轉換成黑白作品亦可被接受。
  12. 以紅外線拍攝的作品概不接受。
  13. 乎合上述定義之自然生態作品,可有風景,地質構造,天氣現象,和現存生物體的主要題材。這包括在受控條件下,如動物園、農場、植物園、水族館和任何機箱,其中主體是完全依賴於人工餵飼。
 
 

通用定義

  1. 影像檔案像素最大為1920 pixels(闊)x 1200 pixels(高)及最高解像度為300 ppi,並以壓縮案JPEG格式儲存,檔案不得大於3MB。
  2. NEC 42" LCD TV MONITOR 將會被用作本屆沙龍評選之顯示器,其解像度為1920 pixels (闊) x 1200 pixels (高)。
  3. 所有提交的影像檔案將如實展示,本會不負責壓縮或旋轉影像。
  4. 如影像檔案小於最大限制,亦會如實展示。
  5. 對於在處理過程中,任何檔案的遺失或錯誤的產生,本會概不負責。所有已提交的作品概不退還。
  6. 提交的影像檔案的次序將與評選展示一致。
  7. 沙龍展覽是公開的,但任何不符合上述要求的作品,可能會被拒絕參與評選,所繳參加費用亦不予退還。
    1. 彩色數碼影像投射組的入選作品將會計算在PSA彩色數碼影像投射組的星標系統及彩色組的名家系統內。如有黑白作品在彩色數碼影像投射組中入選,該作品只會計算在PSA彩色數碼影像投射組的星標系統內。
    2. 黑白數碼影像投射組的入選作品將會計算在PSA黑白數碼影像投射組的星標系統及黑白組的名家系統內。

本會簡介

大埔攝影會成立於1983年,初時是由一群熱衷於攝影藝術的攝影班學員,向大埔區文藝協進會建議開辦,在得到批准後,大埔攝影會於1983年中正式成立。 於成立的初期,大埔攝影會邀請到資深攝影導師饒炳雄先生擔任本會的導師,期後於1984年饒先生由於事忙的關係,改由另一位資深攝影梁其正先生擔任導師,直至1989年,邀請到另一位資深攝影導師鍾賜佳先生加入本會擔任導師。

多年以來,大埔攝影會一直致力於推廣攝影藝術,除了舉辦各類型的攝影活動之外,亦有與其它本港及世界各地的攝影團體保持聯絡,甚至聯合舉辦攝影活動,以達至互相切磋交流的目的。大埔攝影會於1998年加入美國攝影學會,成為團體會員,開始為加入世界攝影圈踏出第一步。

1999年4月,大埔攝影會成功舉辦了一第一屆國際沙龍,共有32個不同國家及地區,338位攝影家共1300多幀作品,參予了是次國際沙龍。

大埔攝影會將會繼續一貫的信念,致力推廣攝影藝術,為本港攝影文化的發展盡一分力。
